Treats can be delicious and healthy. Easily.
Not like pretend delicious. Like real “mmmm” delicious.
The first time I had a “bliss” ball (also called love, energy or power balls… all appropriate names) was about 10 years ago in a vegetarian restaurant. My eyes almost popped out of my head.
Delicious!
Since that first encounter, I always keep my eye out for a good bliss ball and jump on the chance to taste different bliss balls wherever I go. My latest bliss ball find was at a restaurant in Barcelona. It was a matcha pistachio combo and it was incredible! That little ball of heaven inspired these Chocolate Matcha Oat Bars but also planted the seed for a mild obsession with bliss ball flavours.
Interesting Ingredient : Dried apple rings.
Medjool dates are the cornerstone of vegan bliss balls but adding in different dried fruits is a great way to incorporate new flavours. I’m experimenting with dried mangos, mulberries, apricots and figs! Dried apple slices put the apple in this vegan Apple Pie Bliss Ball. Check out bulk food stores for different dried fruits.

- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon allspice
- ⅛ teaspoon Himalayan salt

Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a food processor (in the sequence listed) and process until the mixture rolls around the processor in a ball. Transfer the mix to a glass bowl.

Notes
* You can omit the maple syrup and add 1-2 tablespoons of water instead if you want a no-sugar added version.
